The Top 10 Wisest Master Yoda Quotes ;-)

Master Yoda Quotes

In the quotes-series we have a little mixture today, since I turn to some fiction just to have a little fun.

Hmm.. who could be an example of personal growth and disciplined and spiritual learning? Right, Star Wars’ Master Yoda. According to Wookieepedia , Yoda was one of the most renowned and powerful Jedi Masters in galactic history, who was known for his legendary wisdom, mastery of the Force and skills in lightsaber combat.

So, you want to learn the Force … Help you I can. My ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is. It is what gives a Jedi his power. It is the energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us. It binds the universe together.

The Force is this and more. It cannot be fully described with words. You must feel the Force to understand it. To feel the force is what you will learn. (A Way to the Force )

Here comes the Top-10 of the wisest words from the great and beloved Master Yoda. Take them serious you must not. But to be inspired you may be. :)

10. Commitment

A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind.

9. Delusion

Size matters not, … Look at me. Judge me by size, do you?

8. Senslessness of War

Ohhh! Great warrior! [laughs and shakes his head] Wars not make one great!

7. Self-Reflection

Named must your fear be before banish it you can.

6. Attachment

Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealously. The shadow of greed, that is.

5. The Present Moment

This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing.

4. Giving and Recieving

You will find only what you bring in.

3. Fear

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

2. Beliefs

[Luke:] I can’t believe it.
[Yoda:] That is why you fail.

1. Determination

Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.

Bonus. May to force be with you

For my ally is the Force – and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you: here. Between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.

Please edit your #1 to include the entire quote. “Try not, do, or do not. There is no try” In Chinese Zen is called Chan, and yes, much of the “force” and “jedi” are based in shaolin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABzvBiGeKRg

Great article on Yoda quotes. However, not only does Yoda have an infinite amount of some even better and wiser quotes (after all, he is over 800 years old), you should take his wisdom more seriously ;)

I implore you to actually do a little diggin into his backround and history. Least to say it is “quite” enlightening…………

    Good afternoon, compadre Mirko:

Nice to meet you. Do you remember the last phrase of Casablanca movie, the start of a new frienship, somethink like. How is your Spanish. We can practice. First recommendation: ROBLEDA Moguel, Margarita, a gorgeous mexican children’s writer.

    Thanks (Tlazcamati Miac, in Nahuatl)
