A year comes to an end, and a new year starts. Does that mean anything?
It’s just a date, a coincidental point in time switching one second to the next, and by that switching a whole year.
Traditionally people are reflecting back on the last year and start planning for the next year. And that’s a very good thing. At least you try to learn from your past, notice for what you can be grateful today, and make a plan for what your future holds for you.
Life isn’t always perfect. The last year wasn’t perfect for you. But it had it’s very bright sides. And some darker ones, too. That’s what life is. The important thing is to never give up and to look for the good in everything. You’ll find it.
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”
The Best of MyrkoThum.com in 2012
For me, 2012 was a year of a lot of changes. Changes that were overdue and changes that came by surprise. In fact there were so many, that I was a bit overwhelmed with the new things I had to learn. This alone led me to post a lot about productivity while I was facing these challenges myself.
In March 2012 I restarted this website and I’m pretty happy with the course it has taken since then. It looks promising and I believe that it will see a great time in 2013.
I have also planned some big changes for 2013. The biggest change will be the launch of my first online course somewhere in the first half of 2013. The name will be The System, consisting of 7 Modules. I’m currently shooting videos, around 5 videos a 15 minutes for each module. It’s great fun and I’m already looking forward to the launch and your feedback to it in 2013!
From the posts I wrote in 2012, I especially liked the following
Top 7 of the Best of 2012:
#7 How to Build Self-Confidence
This was my very first and an intense post after reviving the blog in March. And I think it has all the essentials to build lasting confidence.
#6 How to Follow Your Passion and Do What You Love without Going Broke
Passion is a controverse topic and I think I nailed down why searching for and following your passion is in fact a great and fulfilling thing. If it’s done the right way.
#5 The Tiny Guide to Self-Discipline
Another favorite topic of mine is self-discipline. It’s another intense post and the 1st point is especially easy but powerful to implement.
#4 Give Me 5 Minutes and I’ll Give You Total Clarity
Clarity comes from a clear mind. Something at the top of what I believe to be desirable to develop.
#3 Success: The Only Guide You Need on How to Be Successful in Life
This is probably my longest post at the whole blog and one that took me forever to write. Again I think it’s very comprehensive and fundamental.
Followup post was: The #1 Reason Why You Are Still Not Successful
#2 The Simplicity Guide to Live a Simple Life
Simplicity is not simple. Understanding this and implementing the concept in your life is a big change in my opinion. This is my first post on the topic of simplicity and I think it has all the essentials.
#1 The Right Mindset: Change Your Mindset in 6 Steps
Coming back to the beginning for the post: The mind is everything. It’s your “tool” to change everything the way you want it. In my point of view it’s the “interface” between the unmanifested and the physical world.
Best followup on the topic: How to Change Your State of Mind
Changing your mind is changing your world. That’s why these two posts are my best for 2012. You can find all other posts in The Archive.
I would love to hear what you think. Which post of 2012 did you like most from me? What was your personal best post that you wrote (You are allowed to link it in a comment below!) and why?
